Jack Leland Collins II Obituary

Visitation Location: Roush Funeral Home Visitation Hours: Saturday, May 20 (4-5PM) Memorial Service Location: Roush Funeral Home Memorial Service Time: Saturday, May 20 (5PM) Jack Leland Collins II, 50, of Ripley, WV, passed away on May 14, 2017, surrounded by family and friends. From the time he was walking, Jackie was determined to live life to the fullest. He spent his 50 years loving life, laughing and joking with his family and friends, fixing more vehicles than can be counted, riding untold miles on his four-wheeler, hunting nearly every inch of the county's countryside and doing more than his fair share toward culling the deer population (of 10-points or higher). Affectionately known as the deer whisperer, Jackie never met a stranger and never hesitated to help out any of his countless friends. He loved being outdoors and enjoyed working with his hands. A self-proclaimed jack of all trades, his varied work history includes: time as a welder, electric lineman, derrick rigger, and repairing automobiles under the hood and body. lace wigs Jackie is survived by his parents, Jack L. Collins of Ripley, and Linda L. Stone of Ripley, and is responsible for nearly all their gray hair. Proud of the man he became, they learned to appreciate his "live in the moment" approach to life. He is also survived by his brother, Tim Collins (Kelly) of Olympia, Washington; sister, Carolyn Gwathmey (Mark) of Saint Leonard, Maryland; his children, Eugene Collins (Kristen) of Ripley; Ali Resendez of Bermuda Dunes, Calif., and like-his-own-children: Camina Clarke of Evans; Jase Derenberger of Ripley; Caleb Derenberger of Evans; and Little Tony Derenberger of Evans, along with 14 aunts and uncles, numerous cousins, and we can't forget his beloved Blue Heelers, Shadow, Sadie and Scotia. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Dennis and Mildred Collins, and John and Ollie Stone. For being there by his side through thick and thin, special thanks to Mona Derenberger, Rosie Staats Smith, Jamie Smith, Al Rhyne, Cory Wiseman, Robbie Boggess, C.J. Clendenin, Cam Hoskins, Bobby Bostic, Chris Lupardis, Richie and Stephanie Shaffer, Missy Burgess and Tereasa Yates, and to Mike Benson for saving Jackie a lot of steps by providing him a four-wheeler.
