She was born on April 19, 1925, in Harrisville, WV, daughter of the late Mont and Macil Jewell Cox. Annabelle was a member of St. Matthew Catholic Church in Ravenswood; R. Douglas Chapter of Eastern Star; Murraysville C.E.O.S; Jackson County Democratic Women's Club; Ravenswood Fire Department Auxiliary; VFW Auxiliary; and Ravenswood Senior Center. She won many awards for her embroidery, and she enjoyed reading and tending her rose garden. She also enjoyed feeding the birds, especially hummingbirds. She had been a secretary to the Comptroller at Montgomery Ward. She is survived by her two sons, Charles Allen Lurz and Michael David Lurz; daughter, Doris Ann McPherson; daughters-in-law, Mary Agnes Lurz, Regina Lurz and Joyce Lorraine Lurz; five grandchildren, Karen, Michael, Jimmy, Brenda and Debbie; seven great grandchildren, Ella Bee, Caden, Justus, Jaden, Jordan, Amber and Nick; 2 great-great grandchildren, Reagan and Conner; and several aunts, uncles, and cousins. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Francis H. Lurz, Sr.; son, Francis H. Lurz, Jr.; son-in-law, Mac McPherson; granddaughter, Melissa Lurz; great granddaughter, Briana Clingerman; and her sister, Doris Cox. The funeral service will be held on Friday, April 28, 2017, at 11:00 am at St. Matthew Catholic Church in Ravenswood with Father Pen officiating. Burial will follow in Pine Hill Cemetery, Ripley, WV. Friends may visit the family at Roush Funeral Home in Ravenswood on Thursday, April 27, from 7:00 to 9:00 pm, and one hour prior to the service at the funeral home on Friday. R.
