Eleanor Staats VanKirk, 85, of Ravenswood, WV, went home to be with her Lord and Saviour on April 15, 2020, at Ravenswood Village in Ravenswood, WV. She was born on February 9, 1935, in Gay, WV, daughter of the late Veldra and Ethel Staats. She was a homemaker, loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She loved being with and taking care of family. She was a member of the Calvary Baptist Church of Ravenswood, WV, where she was active in choir and all church functions. She was married to the late Paul E. VanKirk for 53 years. She is survived by her sons, Michael (Penny), Daniel, Jeff (Terry), all of Ravenswood, WV; 4 grandchildren, Jason (Leigh Ann) of Charleston, WV, Justin of Fort Lauderdale, FLA, Christina and Baylee of Ravenswood, WV; 3 great grandchildren, Jalen Wayt, Hunter, Brayden of Ravenswood, WV; and 1 step great granddaughter, Allie Casto of Charleston, WV; brothers, Carroll (Jenny), John (Carolyn), Larry (Nedia), Cole (Diana), Jim (Rhonda); sister, Linda (Aaron) Mollohan; sisters-in-law, Carol-Ann, Rosalie, Helen Staats; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by brothers, Bob, Roland, Paul, Billy Dean, Bernard; and sisters-in-law, Grace and Carolyn. Graveside services will be held on Tuesday, April 21, 2020, at 1:00 pm at Jackson County Memory Gardens in Cottageville, WV, with Pastor Bryan Arthur officiating. Friends may either drive by or walk by one hour prior to service at the graveside. The family wants to thank the staff of Ravenswood Village (Genesis) for the care, love, and support for mom during her stay there. Our prayers and thoughts are with them in this trying time.
