He was born on January 28, 1948, in Parkersburg, WV, a son of the late Lowell Austin Lemley and Eleanor Pauline Moore Lemley. Tom was a graduate of the class of 1966 from Ravenswood High School. He studied Mechanical Engineering at West Virginia Institute of Technology and retired from his career in the field after being diagnosed with cardiovascular disease in 2002. He is a U.S. Army veteran who served in the Vietnam War where he was stationed in Thailand. Tom was a talented carpenter and musician, a hot rod and antique car enthusiast, an outdoor sportsman, and a long-time member of the Big Bend Bassmasters Club of Ravenswood. Some of his favorite moments were spent at the family farm on Lemley Ridge and on the water, fishing. He will be sorely missed by his family, friends, and his dear canine companion, Wicket. He is survived by his wife of 41 years, Ethel, and their children, John (Lynn) Cox of Parkersburg, WV, Sara (Adam) Barroclough of Huntington, WV, Paul (Natasha) Lemley and Austin (Jessica) Lemley of Ravenswood, WV; 5 grandchildren, Desiree', Alexis, Brayden, Jakob and Zachary; two brothers, James Lemley and Mark (Leah) Lemley of Ravenswood; and sister, Lois (Tage) Erickson of North Anson, ME; as well as many beloved nieces and nephews. The funeral service will be held on Friday, March 17, 2017, at 2:00 pm at Roush Funeral Home in Ravenswood with Pastor Karen Ritchie officiating with Reverend Ken Peters assisting. Burial will follow in Ravenswood Cemetery. Friends may visit the family at the funeral home on Thursday, March 16, from 6:00 to 8:00 pm.
