Joshua M. Harpold

Harpold, 29, of Ravenswood, devoted father to Gabriel and loving husband to Katherine, was welcomed into heaven on May 12, 2018. Joshua was a 2007 graduate of Ripley High School and worked as an EMT for Kanawha County until 2013, when he earned his paramedic science degree from Mountwest and fulfilled his dream of becoming a paramedic. In 2011, he married his soulmate, Katherine Berg of St. Albans. He came home to Jackson county to work and raise his family in the community he loved. Joshua was an avid outdoorsman and hunter who anticipated the arrival of deer season each year. He is survived by his wife, Katie; and son, Gabriel; his mother Tammy and father Bill, of Gay, his mother-in-law Sarah Berg, of Ravenswood, his brothers, Caden and sister-in-law Brittany (Turklay) Harpold and their son, Liam of Ripley, Brandon and Shane of Gay; his uncle, Jody of St. Albans, grandmother, Brenda Griffith of St. Albans, grandfather, Robert "Bob" Harpold of Statts Mills, his brother-in-law, Christopher Berg and his wife Sarah and their children, Arabella, Johann, and Declan of Bowie, Maryland, and a host of family and friends. He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Mike Griffith, and grandmother, Diana Harpold. The funeral service will be held on Friday, May 18, 2018, at 2:00 pm at Roush Funeral Home in Ravenswood, with Pastor Dee Rhodes officiating. Visitation will be held on Thursday, May 17, 2018, from 4:00 pm until 8:00 pm at the funeral home, and one hour prior to service on Friday.
