She was born on January 22, 1936, in Wharton, WV, daughter of the late Cledith and Opal Ellison Green. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Billy Ray Atkins; and grandson, Christopher Atkins. Marian was a homemaker and a loving wife and mother. She and her husband Billy Ray were married for 42 years. She had been employed as a police dispatcher with the Ravenswood Police Department. She is survived by her children, Connie Sullivan (Denny) of Ravenswood, Neil Atkins (Terri) of Georgia, and Sonja Michelle McNamara (Michael) of Australia; grandchildren, MaryBeth and LeeAnne McNamara, Jessica Sullivan, Bryan Atkins, and Brandon Atkins; and great grandchildren, Steven Sullivan, Lane Atkins, Payton Atkins, and Katelynn Atkins. The funeral service will be held on Friday, December 27, 2019, at 2:00 pm at Roush Funeral Home in Ravenswood with Preacher Rick Christian officiating. Burial will follow in Ravenswood Cemetery. Friends may visit the family at the funeral home on Friday from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm time of service.
