Visitation Location: Roush Funeral Home Calling Hours: Saturday,February 6 (5-8PM) Location of Services: Independence United Methodist Church Time of Services: Sunday, February 7 (2PM) Officiated By: Pastor Danny McVey Naomi Jean Shockey, 69, of Sandyville, WV, went to be with her Lord and Savior on February 3, 2016, at St. Mary's Hospital in Huntington, WV, with her family by her side. She was born on June 16, 1946, in Akron, Ohio, daughter of the late James W. Newman, Sr., and Mary L. Burkett Newman. She was a member of Independent United Methodist Church in Sandyville. She enjoyed western style square dancing. She was a member of the Sternwheelers Square Dancing group for many years. She is survived by her husband of almost 28 years, Lesley Shockey; sons, David (Marcellene) Beegle, Gallipolis Ferry; and Clair (Shanna) Beegle, Jr., Ravenswood, WV; daughter, Roxanne (Vernon) Good, Ravenswood, WV; 12 grandchildren, several great grandchildren; 1 brother, James Newman, Jr., Akron, Ohio; and stepchildren, Kimberly, John Keith, Charles and Lois. She was preceded in death by her parents. Services will be held on Sunday, February 6, 2016, at 2:00 pm at Independence United Methodist Church in Sandyville. Pastor Danny McVey will be officiating. Burial will follow in Independence Cemetery, Sandyville, WV. Friends may visit the family at Roush Funeral Home, Ravenswood, WV, on Saturday, February 5, 2016, from 5:00 to 8:00 pm, and one hour prior to service at the church.
