Visitation Location: Roush Funeral Home Visitation Time: Wednesday, January 31 (2-4PM) Service Location: Roush Funeral Home Service Time: Wednesday, January 31 (4PM) Nannie Mae Elswick Boyd, 80, of Ravenswood, WV, passed away in her home, surrounded by her family, on January 27, 2018. She was born on September 16, 1937 in Carter County, Kentucky to Mary and Delbert Elswick. She was a graduate of Montgomery High School and married Richard Lee Boyd in 1955. She and Richard made Ravenswood their home in 1958 and raised their three children there. She was "Mommaw" to 6 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren. Nan was member of Calvary Baptist Church and served in a variety of church roles for over 50 years. She was an active member of the Ravenswood Senior Citizen Quilting Group. In addition to her love for her family, she enjoyed cooking/baking, flower gardening, camping, playing card and board games, and relaxing with her cats. Nan was preceded in death by her parents, her sisters Delores Elswick and Mary Duffield, brother John Elswick, and nephew Allen Owens. She will be greatly missed by her husband of 62 years, Richard Boyd, daughters Gail (Greg) Varney and Vickie Fields, and son John (Carolyn) Boyd. Nan leaves a legacy of love to her "precious jewels," her six grandchildren and nine great grandchildren: Ryan (Teresa) Varney and their children Sidney and Sam, Kurt (Kendra) Palmer and their children Kirtlyn and Kyndal, Emily (Greg) Archer and their children Kain Randolph and Kamie Archer, Adrienne Cunningham and her children Kye and Jace, Amanda (Steve) Boyce and their son Jamison, and Zach (fianc Veronica Howard) Boyd. Nan is also survived by her sister June (Gary) Owens and brother Alvin (Nancy) Elswick. The family will greet friends at Roush Funeral Home between 2:00 and 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday, January 31. The funeral will follow at 4:00 p.m. with Pastor Brian Arthur officiating. Burial will follow at Ravenswood Cemetery.
