He was born on October 13, 1949, to the late Ralph and Geraldine Braun. He was married to Margie Reed Ware, the love of his life. Between them, they had five living sons, Jason Ware, Matthew Ware, Jeremy Braun, Andrew Ware and his loving wife Sarah, and Bruce Ware. He was known as Pap Pooh to Victoria Riess, Garrett Wilson, Alex "Fred" Ware, Madison Ware, Reed Ware, Teonna Braun, Josiah Ware, Bailey Ware, Joel Ware, Tasha Braun, Luke Ware, Asher Ware, Oliver Ware, and Henry Ware. Also surviving are his two brothers, Dean and Dana, plus many nephews and nieces. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Douglas, Vincent, David, Kent, and Roy; sister, Ann; and son, Jeffrey Braun. Ray was retired and spent his time taking care of his wife, home and family. He liked to garden, cut firewood, and take care of the yard. He spent time with his dogs, walking them and sitting in the yard with them. His life was spent making people happy. He had an infectious smile, and at times just plain ornery. To know Ray was to love him, people were drawn to him-he knew no stranger. He loved to spend time with his family, especially the grandchildren. Ray gave his heart to the Lord late in life, but was a devoted Christian attending Willowdale Baptist Church in Ravenswood with his wife Margie. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, September 10, 2019, from 12:30 pm to 2:30 pm and 4:30 pm to 6:30 pm at Roush Funeral Home in Ravenswood, with the service starting at 6:30 pm with Pastor Steve White, and Greg Lawrence officiating.
