Edith Genevieve Kerns, 87, of Ravenswood, WV, passed away on September 23, 2016, at Camden Clark Medical Center in Parkersburg, WV. She was born on August 5, 1929, in Clarksburg, WV, daughter of the late Ross and Alta Cain Leaman. Edith loved bowling at Pike Street Lanes, and she also loved quilting and crocheting. She is survived by her husband of 64 years, Paul Kerns of Ravenswood, WV; sons, Mark (Penny) Kerns of Ravenswood, WV, and Jeffrey Kerns of Parkersburg, WV; grandchildren, Samantha (Brandon) Stutler of Ravenswood, WV, and Alan Kerns of Parkersburg, WV; great grandchildren, Shasta Kerns, Andrew Stutler, Bryant Stutler, all of Ravenswood; and one sister, Edna French of Parkersburg, WV. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Alan Eugene Kerns; great granddaughter, Angel Stutler; brothers, William F. Leaman, Forest L. Leaman, and Jacob R. Leaman; sisters, Alta E. Leaman, Electa J. Hill, and Julia A. Nason. A private family memorial service will be held at a later date.
