She was born on October 6, 1931, in Pike County, KY, daughter of the late Bruce Taylor and Lilly Chaney Taylor. Gladys was a Christian and a member of the Ravenswood Church of God. She spent her life in the service of others. She is survived by her daughters, Vickie Herdman and husband Eddie, Ravenswood; Linda Siders and husband Paul, Columbus, OH; Cathy Easter and husband Roy, Ravenswood; and Leslie Henry and husband George, Windsor, VA; 6 grandchildren, Brandon, Kristen, Brent, Angie, Brian, and Taylor; 4 stepchildren, George, Jr., Emma, Priscilla, and Mary; brother, Don Taylor, White Sulphur Springs, WV; sister, Betty Cronin, Galion, OH; 6 great grandchildren; and also a host of very good friends. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Luther Bartram; second husband, George T. Varney; and one daughter, Tammy Beaver and her husband John; sister, Jean, and brother, Jack. The funeral service will be held on Thursday, September 21, 2017, at 1:00 pm at Roush Funeral Home in Ravenswood, WV, with Reverend Ron Heath officiating. Burial will follow in Jackson County Memory Gardens in Cottageville, WV. Friends may visit the family at the funeral home on Thursday, September 21, 2017, from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm.
