Debbie Lee Schlosser

Deborah Lee Schlosser, 66, of Port Orchard, WA, passed away on July 14, 2022.  Born on September 13, 1955 to Merrill M. and Margaret J. (Johnson) Mashburn, Debbie went on to graduate from South Kitsap High School and later, from Olympic College receiving an Associate Degree.  She married William L. Schlosser (Bill) on September 13, 1994 in Olalla, WA.  For 21 years, Debbie held secretarial and administrative positions at PSNS and Bangor Naval Submarine Base.  Debbie always worked multiple jobs aside from PSNS and Bangor, that included switchboard operator, food concessions manager at the Kingdom, bail bonds deliverer, after hours custodial service worker, caterer, direct sales, property manager and Avon representative. In her spare time, Debbie enjoyed all the arts including theatre, dance and music.  She loved to travel and immerse herself in culture. Debbie adored her cats and was known to donate to local shelters. Although she did not have biological children of her own, she wore the role of mother to many as an adopting mother, foster parent, step-parent, and international host. Debbie made supportive relationships with many exchange students who stayed in touch with their American mom until the end.  Debbie wanted all of her children to have every opportunity and experience that she could provide and she never held back.  Debbie was thrifty, very creative and crafty, extremely organized, independent, a phenomenal cook, loving, caring, and generous.  Debbie is preceded in death by her husband, Bill; daughter, Katerina Schlosser; and parents.  Debbie’s memory will live on with her son, Joshua Schlosser of Kent, WA; Stepsons, Ross Smith of Wheatridge, CO, Tony Smith of Wheatridge, CO, William Schlosser Jr of Pullman Wa, and Ron Schlosser of Bremerton, WA; step daughters, Jody Gamrath of Surprise, AZ, Susan Veach of Cleveland OH, and Kathy Collier of Port Orchard, WA as well as numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.  A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, September 13th at 11:00am at Lewis Funeral Chapel.
