Evelyn F. O'Connor
Evelyn F. O'Connor, 93, a longtime resident of Harrison and Heritage Hills, passed away peacefully at Calvary Hospital in the Bronx on July 15, 2013. Evelyn was born in Harrison to Anthony and Adeline Capio. She graduated from Harrison public schools and on February 6, 1943 she was married to Thomas O'Connor also of Harrison who predeceased her in 2009. She worked for several years as Personnel Director at Dictaphone Corporation in Rye. After their retirement, Evelyn and Tom thoroughly enjoyed their later years in golf communities in Somers, New York and Naples, Florida. For the last four years she lived at the Atria in Ardsley, New York. Evelyn is survived by her loving daughter Patricia O'Connor Saich and her son-in-law William Saich, four adoring grandchildren: Kristen John Yurczak, William Michele Saich, Teddy Saich and Shelly Joseph McGuinness and eight adorable great-grandchildren: Jake, Sarah, Alex, Max, Samantha, Lindsay, Liam and Rory. She is also survived by her four sisters, Mildred Diefenbach, Alice O'Connor, Marion Day and Anne Fraioli, and a very devoted extended family. Visiting Thursday 2-4 and 7-9pm Edwards-Dowdle Funeral Home. Mass of the Resurrection Friday 9:30am Church of the Sacred Heart, Dobbs Ferry, NY.
