Joseph A. Corbo

Joseph A. Corbo of the Bronx, NY passed away on Wednesday, February 13 at the age of 88. He was born in the Bronx to Assunta and Antonio Corbo. He was a police officer in the NYPD in the 48th Precinct and retired in 1973. Joe "Coffee" as he was known maintained a lifelong relationship with his brothers and sisters in blue. Joe served in the Army as an MP during World War II and it was an experience that had a great impact on his future. He read voraciously on the subject of the war and could always be found tuned in to the Military Channel. He is survived by his wife, Victoria Trama Corbo, his sweetheart whom he met in kindergarten and his daughter, Victoria C. Corbo and the light of his life, his granddaughter Victoria Anthony Corbo. He was predeceased by his son and best friend, Anthony M. Corbo. He also is survived by his sister, Ida Archacki and brother John A. Corbo, brother-in-law, Joseph Armenio and predeceased by his sister, Marie Armenio. He will be missed by his many nieces and nephews as well as numerous friends he made through the years. Memorial visiting Monday 4-7 PM Edwards-Dowdle Funeral Home. Service at 6:30PM. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his name to the Police Athletic League www.palnyc.org/.
