Ruth Spette 99, of Irvington, NY, died November 2, 2011. She was a resident of the New York State Veteran's Nursing Home in Montrose. Ruth was born in Ridgefield, CT. to Roy and Lulu Chamberlain and was married in West Haven, CT. She was predeceased by her husband, Carol in 1963 and also her brother Roy, and her sisters Carol, Jean and Adele. Ruth continued as the resident manager of New York University's Frank Jay Gould Conference Center in Ardsley-on-Hudson subsequent to her husband's death. Ruth later provided child care services to numerous families for many years mostly in Ardsley Park and Irvington. She was loved and respected by many children in the area. Fun loving Ruth was a member of the Irvington Presbyterian Church and the Hudson Valley Music Club. With an up beat positive attitude, Ruth brightened the lives of so many people and children she met. She is survived by her son Gerald, her brother David Chamberlain of California and many nieces and nephews. She will be missed by all who knew her.
