Anne Marie Simonetti Leddy was born and raised in the Bronx.. She graduated from St. Catherine's Academy. She later earned a Bachelor of History degree from Hunter College and went on to earn her Masters degree in Education from the City University. Anne Marie taught elementary education in New York City. She married James "Jimmy" Leddy in 1969 and the couple later moved to Hastings-on-Hudson in 1973. Upon moving to Hastings she retired from teaching to raise a family. She very soon became an active member of the local community. She served as the co-head of the PTSA for Hillside School, she was a parent representative for the St. Matthews CYO program, and frequently involved herself in volunteer and parish activities. She loved poetry, music, cooking, history, reading on the beach, helping others and embraced all of the athletic activities that her children gravitated toward. Anne Marie is survived by her husband, Jimmy, and her two sons, James & Brian, sister, Aurelie Ruckh, brother, Anthony Simonetti, nephews Robert & Ronald Ruckh and their families.
