Yeun-Chung Yu, "Y.C.", 75, passed away on September 23, 2011. He was born in Henan, China and attended Chung Hsing University in Taipei. He received his masters' degree in sociology from the University of Maryland in 1963 and his PhD in demography from the University of Pennsylvania in 1969. He married the late Chien-Ming Twanmoh Yu and raised his family in Scarsdale. He spent 26 years with the United Nations in New York working as a demographer. After his retirement, he taught as a visiting professor at Beijing University in China. He is survived by his wife, Ruding Hong, his daughters Fan-fan Yu and Rin-rin Yu, her daughter Leilei Shi-Yuen, and grandchildren.
