Michael A. Colantuono

Michael A. Colantuono, 90, Alpharetta, GA died Wednesday, November 28, 2012, at North Fulton Regional Hospital in Roswell, GA. He was born in Bovino, Italy. Michael graduated from Hastings High School. He joined the US Army in 1942 and served in the Pacific Theater during World War II with the 81st Infantry Division. Michael returned to New York in 1947, met and married the former Carmela Venditto, who predeceased him. They were inseparable for 52 years. Michael was a butcher and worked in a number of small shops including his own. He joined First National Supermarkets and after 29 year retired in 1985. He and Carmela moved to Florida and lived there for 15 years. In 2000, Michael moved to Georgia to be near his daughter and her family. He is survived by his daughter Serafina Sandra Turco of Alpharetta and her husband Peter, his son Michael of Irvington and his wife Eileen, 5 grandchildren Peter Turco and his wife Susan, Christopher Turco and his wife Niki, Michael Colantuono and his wife Tina, Patrick Colantuono and Amy Colantuono Lucas and her husband Erik. Michael is also survived by 2 great-grandchildren Peter M. Turco, Jr. and Rebecca Turco. Mass of the Resurrection 9:30am Tuesday Church of the Sacred Heart, Dobbs Ferry with burial at Sleepy Hollow Cemetery.
