Gary J. Reith Dobbs Ferry, New York Obituary

Gary J. Reith

Our very beloved Gary J. Reith parted from the world with the peace of our Lord on Sunday evening, June 2, 2019 surrounded by his loved ones. He was our warrior, he courageously fought stage 4 metastatic colon cancer for 12 years. He is our fighter and battled his illness with such strength and grace during his time here. He is lovingly remembered by his wife, Janet, his children, Luis, Janine, and Charlene, his parents, Jack and Arlene, his brothers, Dwayne and Gregg, and so many others who he touched during his lifetime. Gary was a devoted father, son, brother, nephew, cousin, and friend. The compassion he had for others was immense and unending. He always put others before him and had the biggest heart made of pure gold. He had a brilliant mind and used it to build and innovate. He was able to see things in a way that others could not, he always had the answers and if he could not give you one, he would find it for you. He was the keeper, the fixer, the builder, the dream follower, the caretaker, the laugh maker, and love bringer. He was an amazing human, truly an angel among us. Our hearts are heavy with sorrow at his passing, but his memory and spirit will live on in our hearts. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Dobbs Ferry Lutheran Church in his memory, which was something that was very close to Gary's heart.
