William Neczesny, Sr.
Neczesny, Sr., William of Morris, NY and formerly of Hastings-on-Hudson, NY passed away peacefully on May 9, 2016 at Albany Medical Center. He was born on June 24, 1947 to Michael and Catherine Antoszyk Neczesny. Bill joined the Navy in October 1969 and was honorably discharged as a Marine Medic/Corpsman in February 1973. He received three Purple Hearts, The Bronze Star and Air Medal, Vietnamese Cross of Gallantry and other medals and commendations. Bill enjoyed hunting and fishing and spending time with family and friends. He is survived by his wife, Diane Gunther Neczesny and his children, Jason Kirsten Neczesny, Nicole Mike Altieri, Rochelle Neczesny, Michael Neczesny Kristin and Katherine Doherty, as well as his adored grandchildren Nicholas Scano, Zach and Ben Altieri, and Kayla and Taylor Doherty, as well as his sister, Anna Neczesny Roberts and two nephews. Bill was predeceased by an infant son, BJ William Jr. and his parents. He leaves behind cousins and many friends to mourn his passing. Funeral service Thursday 10:00 AM St. Michael's Ukrainian Church. Visiting Wednesday today 3-7pm Edwards-Dowdle Funeral Home.
