Raymond DeLuca

Raymond DeLuca, 91, a longtime Irvington resident passed away on January 11, 2016. Born and raised in the Bronx, he was the son of the late Albert and Mary DeLuca. Raymond proudly served in the United States Navy during World War II in the Pacific. Upon returning he met, courted and married the love of his life Irene on February 12, 1950. After taking a ride in the country, they came upon Irvington and moved into a new development overlooking the Hudson River. Now calling Irvington their home, they proudly raised their family. Raymond worked in the garment district of New York City for Revillon Furs until retirement. He was an active member of the community, partially interested in coaching and mentoring children. Raymond was an avid golfer well into his retirement. He was a member of the Irvington Seniors and enjoyed the company of all his friends. Raymond is survived by his children Bob Rosemary DeLuca and Ivy Doug Morgan, grandchildren Michael, Christine, David and Kent and great granddaughter Leila. He was predeceased by his wife Irene on June 4, 2014. Mass of the Resurrection 10:00am Friday Church of the Immaculate Conception, Irvington. Visiting Thursday 2-4 and 7-9pm Edwards-Dowdle Funeral Home.
