Annabelle Foley Granger, 94, a former resident of Hastings-on-Hudson, NY, died Thursday, March 19, 2009 in Seattle, Washington. Annabelle was the daughter of long-time Hastings residents John A. and Frances Foley, and sister of Kathleen, Eveleen, Georgina, John, Rita, Marguerite, Victor, Lillian and Robert. Annabelle is survived by her sister Marguerite Foley Florcyk of Yonkers, NY and by 4 of her children Jim, Frank, Ann and Tom. Her daughter Phyllis died in 2006. Annabelle had 15 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren. Annabelle started her professional career with Elizabeth Arden in New York City and later worked at Manhattan College in Riverdale, NY as Assistant to the Placement Director, where she helped thousands of graduates start their professional careers, before retiring in 1982. Annabelle dedicated her post-retirement years to her family. She also volunteered her time with numerous social and health services organizations. A celebration of Annabelle's life will be held at Edwards-Dowdle Funeral Home at 64 Ashford Ave, Dobbs Ferry, NY from 6 to 9 PM on Tuesday, March 24, 2009. A Mass of the Resurrection will be held Wednesday morning, March 25 at 10 AM at St Matthews RC Church in Hastings.
