Rose M. Tisi Obituary

Rose M. Tisi, a long-time resident of Dobbs Ferry, died on July 28, 2015 at the age of 87. The youngest of five children, Rose was born in Ardsley to the late Giuseppe and Maria Perillo and attended Ardsley schools. She is predeceased by her brothers, Mike, Ralph, and Tony; and sister, Fanny Riccio. After graduation, Rose worked for Crucible Steel in Manhattan. In 1953, she married her love, the late Anthony Tisi, and moved to Dobbs Ferry, where they raised two daughters. When her children were school-age, Rose returned to work first at the Lincoln Farm Camp offices in Ardsley, then at Abbott Union Free School District in Irvington, and ultimately retired from there as Secretary to the Superintendent. Rose lived a life of kindness and grace and had a quiet strength of character. Her greatest joy in life was her family. She is survived by her daughters, Linda Michael Shevchuk and Carol Frank Savino, and grandchildren Frank and Nicole. Rose was a member of the Sacred Heart Sodality, the Dobbs Ferry Woman's Club, the Ardsley Historical Society and both the Ardsley and Dobbs Ferry Senior Citizen groups. Mass of the Resurrection 10am Saturday Church of the Sacred Heart, Dobbs Ferry. Visiting Thursday 6-8pm and Friday 2-4 and 6-8pm Edwards-Dowdle Funeral Home.
