Anita Claire Mastrovito Obituary

Anita Claire Mastrovito, age 87, passed away peacefully in the early morning hours of January 27, 2009. Anita was born April 15, 1921 in Bronx, New York, the only child of Frank and Rose Fracasse. The family moved to Yonkers, New York in 1922 where Anita spent most of her adult life. She graduated from the High School of Commerce and worked for the Board of Education in Yonkers. In May, 1944 she married Philip Mastrovito . They had three children and Anita enjoyed being a full time homemaker. After her husband's retirement, the couple moved to Heritage Village in Southbury, Connecticut where Anita was active in many clubs and organizations. She was a member of Sacred Heart Church in Southbury, the American Legion Auxiliary, Women's Club of Heritage Village and the Italian Renaissance Club. In May of 2006, she and her husband moved to Leisure Village in Camarillo, California. Anita is survived by her husband, Philip Mastrovito, of Camarillo, California, her son Philip Mastrovito, Jr. and his wife Debbie Mastrovito of Alpharetta, Georgia, son Raymond Mastrovito and wife Cheryl of Camarillo, California, granddaughter Patricia Mastrovito of Atlanta Georgia, granddaughter Jocelyn Bingman of Shelton, Connecticut, grandson Christopher Mastrovito and his wife Tiffany of Camarillo and grandson Alexander Mastrovito of Long Beach, California. She is preceded in death by her mother, Rose Fracasse and her daughter, Claire Bingman. Visiting 11 am -12 noon on February 4 Edward-Dowdle Funeral Home, 64 Ashford Ave, Dobbs Ferry, New York, Immediately followed by interment at Ferncliff Cemetery, Hartsdale, New York
