David D. Northrop

David D. Northrop of Dobbs Ferry, born in Philadelphia, PA, died after an illness on August 15 at age 66, surrounded by his loving children Jessica and Daniel and close friends and family. He was deeply grieved by the loss of his dear wife Abby in 1993, and retired from his executive position at Merrill Lynch in 1998 to become a full-time dad to Jess and Dan, to whom he was devoted. In his early career he worked for the Legal Aid Criminal Defense Division in the Bronx, where he made many life-long friends. He was an avid fan of his home town Phillies and Eagles, an enthusiastic amateur scholar and admirer of Abraham Lincoln, and a devotee of the music of the Beatles. Friends may call Sunday from 4 to 8pm at Edwards-Dowdle Funeral Home. Funeral service Monday 1:00pm at South Presbyterian Church, 343 Broadway, Dobbs Ferry, NY.
