Joan M. Cronell

Joan Cronell, 67, of Yonkers passed away on January 19, 2012. She was born in Yonkers to the late William A. and Lena Cronell. Joan attended Our Lady of Victory Academy in Dobbs Ferry and Traphagen School of Design in New York City. She was employed at St. John's Riverside Hospital for 41 years. Joan loved to knit and crochet and had a passion for helping others. She crocheted lap blankets for St. Cabrini Nursing home residents and knitted countless scarves for Midnight Run to distribute. Joan also made hand-crafted cards and gifts for her family and friends. She was an avid collector of buttons and handkerchiefs. Joan loved boat rides, dining out, family gatherings and getting together with friends, especially during the Holidays. Joan is survived by her brother Edward Bernice, sister Nancy Khalil and many loving nieces, nephews, friends and neighbors. She is predeceased by her brother William in 2005. Mass of the Resurrection Tuesday 10AM Church of St. Matthew R.C., Hastings-on-Hudson, NY. Visiting Monday 2-4 and 7-9PM Edwards-Dowdle Funeral Home.
