Irene DeLuca

Irene DeLuca, 84, of Irvington passed away on June 4, 2014. Born and raised in the Bronx, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Mary Ambrosi. In the late 1940s, Irene worked as a secretary for a New York City magazine. In 1950, she married the love of her life, Raymond DeLuca, at St. Mary's Church in the Bronx. In 1954, they moved to Irvington and continued raising their family. Irene enjoyed life and liked going out dancing and listening to music, especially to one of the many Frank Sinatra songs. She later returned to work as a medical records secretary for St. Cabrini Nursing Home in Dobbs Ferry. Irene loved spending time with her family and always looked forward to cooking Sunday dinners. She was a beloved wife, loving mother and cherished grandmother and will be deeply missed. Irene is survived by her husband Raymond, children Bob Rosemary DeLuca and Ivy Doug Morgan and grandchildren Michael, Christine, David and Kent. Mass of the Resurrection 10:00AM Monday Church of the Immaculate Conception, Irvington. Visiting Sunday 2-4 and 7-9pm Edwards-Dowdle Funeral Home. Memorial Contributions can be made in Irene's name to the Alzheimer's Association, 2 Jefferson Plaza, Suite 103, Poughkeepsie, NY 12601.
