Raymond James Costello Jr, 78, of Harwich, MA passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Tuesday, April 15th, 2014. He was the beloved husband of Kathryn Costello for 55 years. He was born to the late Raymond and Kathleen Costello, Sept. 14, 1935, in Tarrytown, NY. Raymond graduated from Stepinac High School and attended Westchester Community College. He married Kathryn in 1959 and they lived across New York and New England until moving to Cape Cod full time in 1990. Raymond was a proud veteran who served in the US Navy as a Seabee, notably in Antarctica. He was a volunteer firefighter in Dobbs Ferry NY, a Construction Supervisor for Kimco Realty, and a lifelong carpenter. Raymond is survived by his wife Kathryn Costello and his six children: Raymond Costello and his wife Teresa of Holliston MA, William Costello and his wife Johari Banker of Wainscott NY, Maura Mirras and her husband Michael of Montauk NY, James Costello and his wife Tara of Bristol CT, Kerry Prescott and her husband William of Harwich MA, and Jennifer Fisher and her husband Arthur of Reston VA. He was very proud of his sixteen grandchildren: Kathryn, James, Raymond, Tucker, Cian, Kendra, Teague, Erin, Liam, Jimmy, Kathleen, Sean, Greer, Rian, Emma, and Sierra. He is also survived by his brother Kevin Costello and his wife Bonnie of Dobbs Ferry NY, many nieces and nephews, and his aunt Josephine Hourihan of Somerville MA. Donations in Ray's memory may be made to the Dobbs Ferry, NY or Harwich, Ma Fire Departments. Visiting hours will be held on Friday, April 18 from 4-7pm at Edwards Dowdle Funeral Home, 64 Ashford Avenue, Dobbs Ferry, New York. Funeral Service will be held at the funeral home Saturday, April 19 at 10am with burial to follow at Sleepy Hollow Cemetery at Tarrytown.
