Sr. Mary Gallagher, RSM of the Sisters of Mercy died on Monday, March 31, 2014. Born to the late Mary Nee Ford and Thomas Gallagher, she is predeceased by her many cousins in the States and in Ireland. Sister was both an educator in Secondary Ed and Principal of St. Catherine Academy in the Bronx. She also served as a member of the Sisters of Mercy Leadership Team. For a number of years, Sr. Mary was Office Manager at Gate of Heaven Cemetery in Hawthorne, NY. Presently she was a volunteer at Mercy Center in the Bronx. Wake Friday, April 4th from 3:00 - 5:00 p.m. with Prayer Service at 6:30 p.m. and Mass of Christian Burial on Saturday, April 5th at 10:00 a.m. at Marian Woods Chapel, Hartsdale, NY. Burial to follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Hawthorne, NY. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Sisters of Mercy Retirement Fund, 150 Ridge Road, Hartsdale, NY 10530.
