George F. Haggerty, Jr. 4/15/31-1/16/17 George F. Haggerty, Jr. was born April 15, 1931 in Flatbush Brooklyn to George Haggerty Sr. and Cecelia Soden. George is the oldest of 5 brothers. He attended Cathedral College High School in Flatbush. In his early 20s, George became a real estate broker in Park Slope Brooklyn. He went on to graduate from St. Francis College in 1954 with a Bachelor's of Art in philosophy. He later moved to Puerto Rico and started a computer school. That's where he met his future wife, Lorraine Penella. Together they raised 3 girls. In 1980, they returned to New York and moved to Dobbs Ferry to be closer to family. There he started his own answering service company until 2010 when he retired. In retirement George returned to real estate and renewed his real estate brokers license. He is survived by his 3 daughters Branwen Ford, Karen Haggerty-DiMaggio and Heather Haggerty. His 2 son-in-laws Frank DiMaggio and Daniel Schwachter and his 3 grandchildren, Erik, Mark and Isabella along with extended family. Services are being held at Edwards-Dowdle Funeral Home on Thursday January 19, 2017 4pm-7pm, 64 Ashford Avenue Dobbs Ferry NY 10522. Mass of the Resurrection will be held Friday January 20th 9:30am at Sacred Heart Church in Dobbs Ferry followed by burial at Mt. Hope Cemetery.
