Ronald Thomas Smith Sr, 90, a lifelong Hastings-on-Hudson resident passed away on January 19, 2014. Born in 1923, he was the son of the late Robert and Ethel Smith. Ronald attended Hastings High School. He was a Linotype Operator for the Gannett Newspaper for many years until his retirement. Ronald was the Past Master for the Hastings Masonic Lodge and was a Past Patron of the Eastern Star for many years. He was also a member of the Southside Club in Hastings. Ronald is survived by his sons Ronald, Jr. Janet of Punta Gorda, FL and Richard Joann of Lake Carmel, NY, grandchildren Christofer Jennifer and Michael Smith, sister Evelyn Reid, nephew Brian and niece Debbie. He was predeceased by his wife Katherine and son Robert both in 1998. Ronald was also predeceased by his sisters Ethel and Elaine.
