Edel F. Ayuso Obituary

Edel Ayuso, 85, a longtime resident of Ardsley, loving father, grandfather and great grandfather passed away peacefully on August 21, 2018. Edel was born in Cuba on May 18, 1933, where he married the love of his life, Maria Mir on February 10, 1957. Just a few months later, Edel left his new bride to immigrate to the United States in search of a better life. Shortly thereafter, Maria joined him and started their new life together. They settled in Ardsley in 1966 and continued raising their family. Edel worked as a mason and enjoyed gardening, baseball, apple pie and a good cigar. He will be greatly missed. Edel is survived by his two daughters, Elizabeth (Joseph) Cardillo and Maritza Ayuso, along with five grandchildren, Marlena, Sarah, William, Mark, and Jane, and two great-grandchildren, Caden and Maya. He was predeceased by his beloved wife Maria in 2009. Contributions in Edel's name may be made to the Alzheimer's Association Mass of the Resurrection 10am Saturday Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church, Ardsley.
