Elizabeth McDougall Dalrymple Harkins

Elizabeth McDougall Dalrymple Harkins, 88, a longtime resident of Irvington passed away on August 19, 2018. Born and raised in Kilbirnie, Ayrshire Scotland, she was the daughter of the late Thomas John and Elizabeth Dalrymple. On March 22, 1955, Elizabeth married her beloved Edward Harkins in Glasgow. That year they moved to Irvington and started their family. Elizabeth worked for 35 years as a Teacher's Aide at Dows Lane Elementary School in Irvington, where she was proud to have taught multiple generations of families. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother who will be greatly missed. Elizabeth is survived by her sons Edward and his wife Cora and John and his wife Aimee, grandchildren Michaela, Tommy and Matthew. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to North Shore Animal League to the Salvation Army Visiting Thursday evening from 7-9pm with Funeral Service Friday 10am at Edwards-Dowdle Funeral Home, 64 Ashford Ave, Dobbs Ferry.
