Sister Kathleen Carroll, RSM, 80, formerly of New York and Worcester, Massachusetts, died peacefully on Tuesday, April 26, 2022 at St. Patrick's Manor, Framingham, MA where she had been a resident for several years. Sister Kathleen was born in North Tarrytown, NY on July 19, 1941 to Thomas J. and Annie (Sloane) Carroll. Her father was a New York City native and her mother was born in County Cork, Ireland. She attended St. Theresa School in North Tarrytown and graduated from Our Lady of Victory Academy while it was still located in Tarrytown. She entered the Sisters of Mercy in Tarrytown on September 8, 1959 and professed her Perpetual Vows on August 15, 1967. Sister Kathleen ministered in education in the Archdiocese of New York for 38 years, 26 of them at Transfiguration School in Tarrytown. In 2000 she moved to Worcester, MA where she ministered at Mercy Centre, educating children with developmental disabilities. She then ministered as an Advocate for the Sisters of Notre Dame at their long term care facility for 14 years until her retirement in 2014. Sister Kathleen was predeceased by her brother Vincent J. Carroll. She is survived by her sister-in-law, Mary "Joyce" Carroll (Elmsford); a nephew James F. Carroll, his wife Deborah and children Samantha and Zachary (NYC); a niece Debora A. Busto, husband Manny and her children James and Kyle (Tarrytown); a nephew John V. Carroll, his wife Maryann and children Ryan and Jessica (Towson, MD) and a nephew Timothy P. Carroll, his wife Jennifer and children Allison, Sarah, Caitlin and Aiden (Yorktown); her community of Sisters of Mercy and her dear friend Mary Bartholomew. On Friday, May 6th, a Memorial Liturgy will be celebrated at 9:45 am in the chapel at Marian Woods, 150 Ridge Road, Hartsdale, NY. Burial will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Hawthorne, NY.
