Joanne M. Grande

Joanne M. Grande, 78, a life long Dobbs Ferry resident died suddenly January 14, 2011. Joanne was born in Dobbs Ferry to Rocco and Mary Louise Grande. As a young woman, Joanne worked for Chicago Pneumatic Tools in New York City. After her marriage to Charles Grande on June 3, 1963, Joanne was a proud to be a stay at home Mom. After raising her daughter, Joanne returned to work. She was the office manager at Days of Wonder Pre School in Dobbs Ferry. Still employed, she has been there over 30 years. She loved Days of Wonder and put everything she had into its success. Joanne was a parishioner of Our Lady of Pompeii Church. She sang in the choir, along with her daughter for many years. She was affectionately known as "Mummy". Joanne is survived by her loving daughter Linda Grande Cavanagh and her son in law Mark Cavanagh whom she loved as a son. She is also survived by her sister Phyllis Catone and her niece Toni Catone. Joanne was predeceased by her husband Charles "Bushel" Grande in November 2008. Mass of the Resurrection Thursday 9:30A.M. Our Lady of Pompeii Church. Visiting Wednesday 2-4 & 7-9P.M. Edwards-Dowdle Funeral Home.
