Michael Braun, 60, died suddenly September 19, 2010. Professor of History at York College-CUNY, former chef and owner of Dix et Sept and a devoted husband to Carol, beloved father to Elise and Jessica, and loving grandfather to Sheamus. His life ended too soon, but during his time he lived fully and was loved greatly. Michael was often found reading a history book, planning great ski vacations, or touring the best cuisine in the world. He loved to entertain and feed people with his great food and endless stories. Michael was a student of history and politics who crafted grand meals and awed people with his talent in the kitchen. A gathering in his honor will take place Thursday, September 23, 2010, 4-7pm at Edwards Dowdle Funeral Home, 64 Ashford Avenue Dobbs Ferry, NY. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Michael Braun Scholarship Fund c/o Carol Braun.
