Robert Miningham

Robert Darcy Miningham of Hastings-on-Hudson died April 15th at Calvary Hospital after battling bladder cancer for more than three years. Robert was born April 4, 1942 in Yonkers, the oldest son of George W Miningham, a local roofing contractor, and Lillyann Wegener Miningham. Robert graduated from Halstead School and Davis and Elkins College in West Virginia. He was a member of the Junior Civil Air Patrol and the Boy Scouts. He enjoyed sports, photography, and travel and had a passion for computers. After college Robert went to work for Columbia University's Hudson Labs in Dobbs Ferry. He became an oceanographer and put his computer knowledge to use mapping the ocean floor. He married the former Barbara Ann Haas in 1965. In 1977 Robert became co-owner of the highly respected computer software firm, Miningham & Oellerich, Inc, M&O, 40 Fulton St, NYC, which specializes in front and back office solutions data management for broker-dealers using "Serve me! Suite." Robert is survived by his loving wife; his mother; his sister, Karen Ives; two of his three beloved daughters, Elisabeth Miningham Monsour, Katherine Darcy Miningham deceased 1997, and Victoria Chas Miningham; his Goddaughter, Kristen Blakely and her daughter, Makayla; his four grandchildren Christopher, Lauren, Racheal, and Audrey Monsour; his nephew George Miningham and his four children: his niece Monica Widing and her daughter; and his sister-in-law, Manoli Miningham. Celebration of Robert's Life will be held at Edwards-Dowdle Funeral Home in Dobbs Ferry, April 23rd. Robert's daughters have created a website, seizetheribbon.com, to raise money for research to fight bladder cancer.
