Charles John Englert Jr. Obituary

Charles John Englert, Jr., 56, of Dobbs Ferry, passed away on March 24, 2010 after a long illness. He was born in Bronx, NY to Charles, Sr. and Margaret Lawrence Englert on May 10, 1953. Growing up, Charlie was an active member of Boy Scouts of America and Little League Baseball. He served as an altar boy for Sacred Heart Parish where he attended grade school. In high school he was captain of the Rifle Team at Archbishop Stepinac High School where he graduated second in his class. Charlie volunteered his time as a mentor at Children's Village in Dobbs Ferry. He spent summers as a caddy at Ardsley Country Club where he learned his love of golf. Charlie was employed in sales at Olson and Gordon for many years where he developed lifelong friendships. He loved the outdoors and was an avid golfer and fisherman. He enjoyed vacationing at Lake George, boating, fishing and water skiing. He enjoyed winter weekends in Vermont skiing, snowboarding and snow-mobiling. Charlie will be missed by his many friends and family. He is predeceased by his father Charles, Sr. He is survived by his loving mother Marge, his brother Raymond, sisters' Janet Peter Gaynor and Judy Glen Danischewski, nieces Kaitlyn and Cara Gaynor, and nephew Erik Danischewski. A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, March 30 at 1PM at the Church of the Sacred Heart in Dobbs Ferry.
