Nicholas J. Marrone Obituary

Nicholas J. Marrone, a long time Hastings-on-Hudson resident died February 25, 2010. Mr. Marrone was born in Italy to Louis and Rose Marrone and has lived in Hastings since 1962. He served in the US Army during WW II. On September 17, 1950 he married Lucille DeVito in the Church of the Annunciation in New York. Mr. Marrone was a butcher for Gristedes Brothers Grocery for many years. He last worked in their White Plains store. He retired in 1990. He was a member of the Holy Name Society of the Church of St. Matthew, R.C., a member of the Elks Club in Scarsdale. He enjoyed gardening, golf and most of all spending time with his grandchildren. Mr. Marrone is survived by his beloved wife Lucille, loving sons Nicholas Susan and Stephen along with six loving grandchildren. Mass of the Resurrection Tuesday 11:00AM Church of St. Matthew, R.C. Visiting Monday 2-4 & 7-9 PM Edwards-Dowdle Funeral Home.
