Groth, Fredrick, Adolph Fred Groth a long- time Ardsley resident died Friday, December 4, 2009. He was 85 Years old. Fred was born in Hastings-on-Hudson, NY and worked as a Meat Cutter for the A & P Company for many years. When he retired, he started a landscaping business. He enjoyed working outdoors, and splitting and chopping wood with his grandson, Christopher. Mr. Groth was predeceased by his wife, Ethel, son, Andrew, his daughter, Susan and granddaughter, Tracy. Mr. Groth is survived by his daughter, Mary, grandsons, Michael, Christopher, Matthew and Lance and granddaughter, Amber. He is also survived by his brothers, John, Bill, Henry and his sisters Alfreda , Johanna and Ernestine and predeceased by his brother Gus, and sister, Dorothy . Funeral Service will be held Monday, December 7, 2009 at 10:30 am at St. Matthew's Lutheran Church, 7 Farragut Avenue, Hastings-on-Hudson, NY. Interment immediately following at Ferncliff Cemetery, Hartsdale, NY.
