Theresa ‘Terry’ Canfield

It is with Broken Hearts the family of Theresa Canfield announce her Passing on April 5th 2020, she was 92 years young. Born October 10th, 1927, she was one of 5 children born to Eugene Stratton and Mary Conroy Stratton in New York City. In 1948 she married the love of her life William Eugene Canfield. Terry and Bill settled in Dobbs Ferry, NY, in 1961 where they raised 9 children together. Theresa was a strong, loving woman and devoted wife and mother. Other then her love for her family, Terry loved shopping, shoes, cooking, gardening, feeding the birds and squirrels in her yard and all of her dogs. She also loved Irish and Country music. Terry would take on just about any home improvement projects, from painting and wallpapering to tiling a bathroom, she would do anything she put her mind to. Terry loved the holidays, Her favorite was Christmas. She took joy in spending countless hours shopping, decorating her home, wrapping presents and cooking Christmas Eve dinner for the whole family. After 38 years in Dobbs Ferry Theresa moved to Briarcliff, NY where she lived the remainder of her days with her loving and caring daughter Patrice and Her family. Terry will be remembered for her Fiery red hair and great sense of humor with the laugh to match. Theresa is predeceased by her parents Eugene & Mary, brother Francis, sisters Anna, Eileen and Rita, husband William, sons William & Scott and daughter Pamela. She is Survived by her daughter Barbara Soutar (Richard), daughter Patrice Longo (Peter), daughter Deborah Canfield, daughter Teresa Kelly (Kevin), daughter Jacqueline Mahon (Kevin), Son Philip Canfield (Kathleen). Her 12 Grandchildren, Shannon, William, Ryann, Chelsea, Gaelyn , Patrick, Ernesto, Amanda, William, Casey, Megan and Aidan. Her two great grandchildren, Kayah and Jack. A memorial service and celebration of Theresa's life will be announced at a later date. Details are pending.
