John A. Sutherland

John A. Sutherland, 80, died September 10, 2007. He was son of the late Kenneth W. and Marjorie Fitch McQuiston Sutherland. He served in the U.S. Navy during WWII and Korea. He was a lifelong resident of Dobbs Ferry. He attended the Choate Prep School, Stephens Institute and graduated from Columbia University. He was the owner of Dobbs Ferry Taxi Co. for over 40 years. As a child, he enjoyed summering along the coast of Maine and particularly enjoyed sailing, especially with his brother. He is survived by his son William, his daughter and son-in-law Susan and Kevin Donovan, 4 grandchildren, Maria and James DeConti, Stephen and Kenneth Sutherland. Funeral services are private. There are no calling hours. The family requests that those wishing to remember John do so my making a memorial gift to either the Parkinson's Disease Foundation or the American Heart Association.
