Antonia Goodspeed

Antonia Toni Goodspeed, 61, formerly of Dobbs Ferry and Putnam Valley, NY, passed away on Thursday, August 16, 2007, in her home in Santa Fe, NM, attended by her husband, Peter, and father, Charles Angelo. Toni attended elementary school at Sacred Heart Villa, Dobbs Ferry, NY; Marymount High school in Tarrytown, NY; and Marymount College also in Tarrytown. She graduated in 1966 with a BS in Chemistry and was selected for the College Who's Who that year. She worked in science textbook publishing from 1970 until 1991, during which time she was Executive Editor of Elementary Science at Harcourt Brace Jovanovich. In 1991 she opened a gift shop, The House of Charm, 129 Main St, Dobbs Ferry, NY, with her mother, Josephine Angelo. After a fire destroyed the store in 2001, her family moved to Santa Fe, NM, where she worked at the Keshi Gallery and volunteered at the Museum of International Folk Art . Toni and Peter, married 32 years, enjoyed books, movies, travel to Italy, collecting folk art and their cat, Murphy Brown. Besides her husband and father, she is survived by her aunt, Jean Cariot, and beloved cousins Maria Sangiuliano, Tita Geracitano, and Lina Amato, of Italy; and Carla de Castillo, James Goldfrank-Cariot, and Loretta Croese and their children, all of New York. The cause of death was breast cancer. Memorial visitation Monday 2-4 and 7-9pm Edwards-Dowdle Funeral Home. A memorial service will be held during the evening visitation, beginning at 8pm Memorial Mass of the Resurrection 9:30 am Tuesday, Our Lady of Pompeii Church, Dobbs Ferry.
