Gaetano L. Magro

Gaetano L. Magro, 99, a longtime resident of Irvington passed away on July 7, 2018. Born in New York City, he was the son of the late Carmelo and Angelina. Raised on East 187th Street in the Bronx, Gaetano was the youngest of three. He proudly served in the US Army during WW II. Upon returning, Gaetano married his beloved Ann and they started their family. He was an avid photographer for Charles Studio in Mt. Vernon. Gaetano later became the owner and operator of the Irvington Laundry and Dry Cleaners. He was a strong willed gentleman who had a deep love for his family and community. Gaetano is survived by his daughters Deborah Hayes and Kim Magro, step son Paul Manganelli, grandchildren Bruce, Heather, Christian and Carly, step grandchildren John Paul and Melissa, great grandchildren Dylan, Talia, Gaetano, Aidan, Miguel and Sophia and step great grandchildren Ryan and Lola. He was predeceased by his siblings Anthony and Josephina. Visiting Monday 4-8pm with Funeral Service Tuesday 10AM Edwards-Dowdle Funeral Home, 64 Ashford Ave, Dobbs Ferry.
