Mary Anne Collins, nee Hennessy, age 86, the daughter of Catherine Sullivan and James Hennessy, a resident of Irvington since 1960, died on June 21, 2017 at Westchester Medical Center as a result of complications from surgery. Mary was born in Manhattan, on August 11, 1930 and attended Hunter College while working at Chase as an investigator in the Head Office Credit Department. She won Chase's Henry W. Cannon Prize, a test of banking knowledge, in 1955. It was at Chase that she met her future husband, James R. Collins, Jr. The couple had celebrated their sixtieth wedding anniversary earlier this month on June 1. After leaving Chase in January 1958 she had three children, Richard, Michael, and Nancy. Michael, an employee of Cantor Fitzgerald, died on September 11, 2001 in the attack on the World Trade Center. In addition to her husband and a younger sister, Elizabeth Redmond, Mary is survived by her two children Richard Collins, Nancy (John) Kasak and daughter-in-law Lissa Lee Collins and five grandchildren, Christopher Collins, Kelsey Collins, Kristen Kasak, Ryan Kasak, and Melissa Kasak. Contributions in her memory may be made to the American Diabetes Association.
