Charles F. DeLanoy, Sr Obituary

Charles F. DeLanoy Sr. June 16, 1962 to September 10, 2020 Anyone who knew Charles F. DeLanoy Sr. knows that he lived his life to the fullest. He was an avid fisherman from a very young age, and went fishing with his son and friends every chance he got. Charlie took great pride in his garden and could grow the most beautiful flowers and vegetables, especially those delicious DeLanoy tomatoes. He loved his Chow Okie and would take him on long walks every day. Charlie enjoyed raising his chickens. He shared fresh eggs around town and pictures of his chickens would pop up on Facebook, posted by those so surprised to see chickens right in the middle of town. His small yard also included a pond for his goldfish and turtles. Charlie was creative, skilled and took pride in his work. In the years to come, reminders of Charlie will be seen in the buildings he painted, repaired and restored throughout the village of Hastings-on-Hudson, NY where he lived his life almost since birth. He was funny, compassionate, genuine and deeply loved his family. The way Charlie lived his life reminds us to value the simple things and not to waste time. Get the chickens, take the trip, drink the wine, make amends and say the words to those you love. Charlie was a gentle soul but was tough as nails and fought like hell for every one of his nine lives. Charles F. DeLanoy Sr. was one cool cat and he will be missed by many.
