Pauline Calace-Mottola

Pauline Calace-Mottola, a lifelong resident of Dobbs Ferry, passed away peacefully in her sleep on Thursday, September 3, 2020 at 86 years old. Pauline was educated in the Ardsley School District from kindergarten through high school. She graduated from State University of Cortland and received a master's degree from Teachers College Columbia University. She was a member of the Ardsley Historical Society and attended Scarsdale Congregational Church. She worked in the Islip School District on Long Island and then moved to the Ossining Union Free School District where she taught third grade until her retirement. She participated in travel study tours about education and enjoyed visiting new places. Pauline is predeceased by her twin sister, Janet Calace-Mottola, in June 2015 and her older brother, Joseph Calace-Mottola, in May 2014. She is survived by her sister-in-law and three nieces. Wake and funeral arrangements will be held on Saturday, September 12, 2020 from 11:00am-12:30pm (memorial service at 12:30pm) at Edwards-Dowdle Funeral Home in Dobbs Ferry. Burial will immediately follow at Ferncliff Cemetery in Hartsdale. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be mailed to Doctors Without Borders, PO Box 5030, Hagerstown, MD 21741-5030.
