Anthony DiMiceli - 5/29/29 - 4/26/17 "Tony" DiMiceli was born on May 29, 1929 in the Bronx to Italian immigrant parents Carmelo and Rosalie nee Cali. While attending Theodore Roosevelt High School in the Fordham section of the Bronx he met the one and only love of his life Marie Compagnoni. They married in 1949 at age 20. They were husband and wife until God called her to heaven in 2005. Tony started in the restaurant business in the early 1950s owning and operating many coffee shops, stationery stores, greeting card stores and pizza parlors, mostly in the Bronx and Manhattan. In 1976, he opened the Primeburger Coffee Shop, which over the years became known worldwide, winning countless awards and accolades including the prestigious James Beard Award in 2004. Tony was a dedicated and loving Husband, Father, Grandfather, and Great-grandfather. He leaves behind his sons Anthony Jr., wife Anna, Michael, wife Phyllis, John, wife Patricia, and his daughter, Diane Manley, husband Chris. He was very proud to have 10 Grandchildren: Michael, Laura, Eric, Andrew, Nicole, Olivia, Gianna, Dylan, Sophia, and Domenic; and 2 Great-grandchildren, Isabella and Lorenzo. Some of Tony's happiest times were spent at the family's beach house in New Jersey, when the whole group would be together for a weekend.
