Deann Gromelski Cartwright, a long time Hastings-on-Hudson resident, passed away on March 25, 2017. Born in Yonkers, NY to Bradford and Dorothy Gromelski, Deann graduated from Arizona State University and JFK University and focused her career on helping heal others. Deann became a certified Polarity Practitioner, a certified Reiki Master and practiced her unique blend of healing techniques throughout the country for over 18 years. She was passionate about the healing arts and soul mechanics. Deann was a loving mother to her two beautiful children, Emily and Ben. She was acting den-mother to all the kids who came to play at their home on Hillside Ave. Everyone was welcome to gather there because of her open arms. She was happy and willing to have a full house at any time. Throughout her life Deann visited and lived in many parts of the country. Her happy places included Marin County, CA; Cape Cod; Hampton Bay, NH; Camp Onas; Sedona, AZ; NYC, and her attic. Deann loved the theater. She would jump at the chance to see a show, any show. Her involvement in the arts started very young, singing showtunes with her dad, and flourished throughout her life. She was an artist, a writer, a model. She was one of a kind and will be mourned by many friends and special loves. She is survived by both parents, brother Dennis Gromelski, children Emily and Benjamin and their father Scott Cartwright.
