Virginia H. Tizard was born on April 2, 1919 in Stillwater, Oklahoma and passed away on February 10, 2018 in Dobbs Ferry, New York at the age of 98. Virginia was the daughter of Finis and Anna Margaret Holliday and had two older siblings, Harvey (Juanita) and Margaret (Willie). They were a farm family first in Stillwater then in Tahlequah. After graduating high school, Virginia followed her older sister to Washington, DC, where both worked for the FBI. Virginia went on to Miami, Florida, also with the FBI, returning to Oklahoma in her mid-twenties to finish her college education. She graduated from Oklahoma A & M (now OSU) in 1947 with a degree in Dietetics. After college, Virginia traveled to Southern California for work at various veterans' hospitals, settling at the VA Hospital in Sepulveda, CA where she rose to the position of Chief Dietician. She had a rewarding career and raised her two children with her husband Dick in Van Nuys, California. After Dick's death in 1997, Virginia moved to Somers, New York to be closer to her family. Survivors include her son Richard, his wife Donna, and their children Emily and Henry in Framingham, MA and daughter Diane Falk, her husband Gregory and their children Rachel and Nathan in Dobbs Ferry, NY; a niece Linda Pyle from Wilmington, NC, and nephews Larry Freeman and Alan Freeman of Oklahoma, and all their families. Virginia will be returning to her beloved Oklahoma when she is buried on Saturday, February 17th at Oak Park Cemetery in Chandler.
